  • • A valid government ID (Aadhaar card, voter ID, or passport)
  • • Any recent medical reports — blood work, X-rays, discharge summaries, prescriptions
  • • A complete list of medications you're currently taking, including dosages
  • • Your health insurance card and policy number (if applicable)
  • • If you've been tracking blood sugar or blood pressure at home, bring that log — even notes on your phone
What to Expect During Your Visit:

You'll register at the front desk, be directed to the relevant department, consult with your specialist, and — if investigations are needed — get them done on-site. X-ray, ECG, and a full range of lab tests are available in-house. Prescriptions can be filled immediately at our 24/7 pharmacy before you leave. No running between buildings.

AvaMED Hospital Reception Desk

Don’t worry if you don’t have everything. Your doctor will order whatever tests or investigations are needed.

Admission Process

Planned Admission (Non-Emergency):

Your consulting doctor recommends admission → you visit the admissions desk → registration and room allocation → nursing assessment → treatment begins. The entire process is guided by the admissions team so you're not figuring it out on your own.

Emergency Admission:

Walk into the 24/7 emergency department → immediate assessment and stabilisation → admission if required → the admissions team handles paperwork while your care is already underway. In an emergency, treatment comes first. Paperwork follows.

Emergency Admission:
  • • Valid government photo ID (Aadhaar, voter ID, passport, or driving licence)
  • • Health insurance card and policy details (for cashless facility)
  • • Previous medical reports, discharge summaries, and imaging (if available)
  • • Current medication list with dosages
  • • Emergency contact details (name, relationship, phone number)

Advance Deposit:

An advance deposit may be required at the time of admission. The admissions team will guide you through the amount based on your treatment plan and room selection. For patients availing cashless insurance, the TPA pre-authorization process is initiated immediately and may reduce or eliminate the deposit requirement.

Insurance & TPA

AvaMED Hospital is GIC Empanelled and works with major insurance providers and Third-Party Administrators (TPAs) for cashless hospitalisation.

What is Cashless Hospitalisation?

It means your insurance company settles the bill directly with the hospital — you don't pay out of pocket (beyond any exclusions or co-pay defined by your policy). No claim forms to fill after discharge. No reimbursement waits.

How to Avail Cashless Facility at AvaMED:

Step 1 → Inform the admissions desk that you wish to use cashless insurance at the time of admission (or as early as possible for planned admissions).

Step 2 → Provide your insurance card, policy number, and a valid photo ID.

Step 3 → Our TPA desk initiates the pre-authorization request with your insurance company.

Step 4 → Once approved, your treatment proceeds under cashless arrangement.

Step 5 → At discharge, the approved amount is settled directly between the insurer and the hospital. You pay only the difference (if any) for items not covered under your policy.

What If My Insurance Isn't on the Empanelled List?

You can still get treated at AvaMED. Pay the hospital directly and submit the bills and discharge summary to your insurance company for reimbursement. Our billing department provides all the documentation you need for a smooth claim.

Documents to Carry for Insurance:
  • • Insurance card or policy document
  • • Photo ID matching the policy holder's name
  • • TPA card (if issued separately)
  • • Any pre-authorization or referral letter (if required by your insurer)

Visiting Hours

General & Private Wards:

9:00 AM – 7:00 PM, daily

ICU:

Specific visiting hours are allotted based on the patient's condition, clinical priority, and ICU workflow. The critical care team will inform the family of designated visiting times. Due to the nature of intensive care — where procedures, monitoring, and emergency interventions can happen at any moment — visiting in the ICU is more restricted than in general wards. Please cooperate with the nursing staff when asked to wait.

NICU:

Access restricted to parents at designated times, following strict infection control and hygiene protocols.

During Your Stay

Nursing Care

Trained nursing staff is available 24/7 across all wards and the ICU. Routine vitals — temperature, blood pressure, pulse, oxygen levels — are monitored at regular intervals. Medications are administered as prescribed by your consulting physician. If you need assistance at any time, the nursing call button is at your bedside.

Doctor Rounds

Your consulting physician visits daily during inpatient rounds. For ICU patients, the critical care team provides continuous oversight with the consulting specialist reviewing regularly and more often as needed. If you have questions about your treatment or progress, doctor rounds are the best time to ask — or request the nursing station to arrange a conversation.

Meals

Meals are provided to all admitted patients as per diet plans prescribed by the dietician and your consulting physician. This is especially important for diabetic patients, post-surgical patients, and patients with dietary restrictions — your meals are part of your treatment, not a separate arrangement. Specific dietary needs, allergies, and preferences are communicated to the kitchen by the clinical team.
Visitors and attendants can order meals from an à la carte menu available at the hospital.

Pharmacy

AvaMED's pharmacy is operational 24/7. Prescribed medications are available on-site — no need to leave the hospital to fill a prescription, even at night. The pharmacist cross-checks your new prescription against your existing medications to avoid interactions.

Diagnostics

X-ray, ECG, and a full range of laboratory tests are available in-house. If your doctor orders an investigation during your stay, it happens in the same building — results are communicated directly to your clinical team.

Parking

Ground-level parking is available for both two-wheelers and four-wheelers for patients, attendants, and visitors.

Discharge Process

When your doctor clears you for discharge, here's what happens:

Step 1 → Your consulting physician confirms that you're medically fit for discharge and writes the discharge order.

Step 2 → The nursing team prepares your discharge summary — a document containing your diagnosis, treatment given, medications prescribed, follow-up instructions, and any dietary or lifestyle recommendations.

Step 3 → The billing department prepares your final bill. For cashless insurance patients, the TPA settlement is processed at this stage. For self-paying patients, the bill is presented for payment.

Step 4 → Your discharge medications are dispensed from the 24/7 pharmacy with clear instructions on dosage, timing, and duration.

Step 5 → A follow-up appointment is scheduled with your consulting doctor before you leave — so you know exactly when to come back and what to watch for at home.

What You Receive at Discharge:
  • • Discharge summary with diagnosis and treatment details
  • • Medication list with instructions
  • • Follow-up appointment date
  • • Doctor's contact information for emergencies
  • • Dietary recommendations (if applicable)
  • • Insurance documentation (if applicable)
Payment Modes:

💳 All payment modes accepted — cash, debit card, UPI, and net banking.

Patient Rights

As a patient at AvaMED Hospital, you have the right to:

  • • Be treated with dignity, respect, and compassion regardless of age, gender, religion, or economic status
  • • Be informed about your diagnosis, treatment options, expected outcomes, and costs before any procedure
  • • Privacy and confidentiality of your medical records and personal information
  • • Seek a second opinion from another specialist before proceeding with treatment
  • • Refuse treatment after being fully informed of the consequences (documented through informed consent)
  • • Receive care in a clean, safe environment maintained to NABH standards
